This Privacy Policy describes how LeakFinder ("we", "our", or "the App"), developed by Pergam S.r.l., collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application for professional gas leak detection.
Your privacy is important to us. We are committed to protecting your personal data and being transparent about what information we collect and how we use it.
Information We Collect
1. Location Data (GPS)
What: GPS coordinates during active measurement recordings
Why: To track inspection routes and associate geographic positions with gas leak measurements
Storage: Stored locally on your device and optionally synced to cloud servers
Control: You can disable location services in your device settings at any time
2. Photos
What: Photos you take during inspections to document gas leaks
Why: To provide visual documentation of inspection sites
Storage: Photos are saved to your device's Photo Library in a "LeakFinder" album
Control: You control which photos to take and can delete them from your Photo Library
3. Measurement Data
What: Gas concentration readings (PPM values), timestamps, device information
Why: To record and analyze gas leak detection data
Storage: Stored locally on your device in the app's documents folder
4. Device Identifiers
What: A unique device identifier for license activation
Why: To validate software licenses and prevent unauthorized use
Storage: Stored securely on device. Transmitted to our license server only during activation
5. Bluetooth Data
What: Connection data from paired Pergam gas detection devices
Why: To receive measurements from professional gas detection equipment
Note: We do not collect data from other Bluetooth devices
How We Use Your Information
- Provide gas leak detection and measurement functionality
- Generate inspection reports with GPS routes and photos
- Validate software licenses
- Sync measurement data to cloud services (when enabled by user)
- Improve app performance and fix bugs
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
Your data may be shared in the following circumstances:
- Cloud Sync: When you enable cloud export, measurement data is transmitted to leakfinder.cloud servers
- Export: When you export data, you control where the exported files are shared
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law
Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: All measurement data is stored securely on your device
- Credentials: Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain (encrypted)
- Cloud Storage: Data synced to cloud is protected with encryption in transit and at rest
- Retention: Local data remains until you delete the app. Cloud data retention follows our data retention policy
Your Rights
- Access: View all data stored by the app
- Export: Export your data in standard formats (CSV, ZIP, PDF)
- Delete: Delete measurement history from within the app
- Revoke Consent: Disable location services, camera, or photo access in device settings
- Data Deletion: Contact us to request deletion of cloud-stored data
Children's Privacy
LeakFinder is a professional tool intended for adult use in industrial settings. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age.
Third-Party Services
- Apple Maps (MapKit): For displaying inspection routes (subject to Apple's Privacy Policy)
- leakfinder.cloud: Our cloud service for data synchronization and license activation
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
